Tip #1: Using the right products.
If you’re painting furniture or toys, make sure the paint finish is certified under Toy Safety Standard EN71:3 (2019) which is about the prevention of migration of certain elements. Be sure to use water-based paints with low VOCs and a careful curation of ingredients. Certain finishes can improve air quality, which is better for the whole family.

Tip #2: Creating a feature wall.
A little one’s bedroom is the perfect space
to create a fantastical feature wall. It can create a lovely focal point for
the room and make the space feel personal to them. Why not involve your kids in
the process and ask what they would like on their walls? @sarahdaisykendall used
gorgeous greens to create a striking stripe wall for her child’s playroom.

Tip #3: Using bright colours.
Children’s rooms are also a the
perfect opportunity to be braver in your colour choices! Using bolder hues in
decorating is more appealing for children as they are easier to distinguish
than muted colours. We are completely obsessed with this bedroom from @grain_and_grey
who have teamed bold colours with a stripe wallpaper from Joules to create this
super fun space!

A mural is a fantastic way to create a stimulating space for children. Using a wall as a blank canvas to craft a one-of-a-kind piece of art will make such a special space for children. Painters and decorators such as @homelydecorating can help realise your vision and create something your children will love for years to come!
